Quinta do Noval Colheita 2012 is a rare, small-batch dated Tawny Port from Portugal's prestigious Douro Valley. This wine captures the authentic essence of the Quinta do Noval vineyard with precision and delicacy.
The 2012 vintage was shaped by an extremely dry winter, wet spring, and dry summer—conditions that reduced yields but allowed grapes to achieve excellent maturation. Hand-trodden in traditional lagares and fermented from a blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, and Sousão, this Port was aged in old 640-litre barrels (cascos) for approximately 15 years before its first bottling in 2023.
Rich and complex, this Colheita reveals spicy and liquorice notes alongside flavours of toasted almonds, dried fruits, and zesty citrus. Still young in Colheita terms, it retains fruity character while beginning to show hints of toffee and spice.
